No experience but Eric EQ Young, who plays for Confunkshun, has a signature 4 string bass by them (fully upgraded of course). Great pricing. I inquired about the string spacing at the bridge for the 5 string jazz. 17mm. Too tight for me. I'd buy a 4 string no problem but I have enough 4 strings. Supposed to be pretty lightweight instruments. Too bad no blocks on the neck.

I'd be interested in the value equation on this. These are designed in USA, but look a lot like standard J-basses, and I assume are built oversees.
I am an endorsed artist with Allen Eden and I have nothing but good things to say about them. They are comparable to the sire line and I’d take one of these over a sire any day. Better build and feel in my opinion.
The website says the average weight of the 5 strings is 7 lbs.? Is that correct??
Thank you. That seems a bit more realistic to me. A jazz type 5 string under 9 pounds still sounds pretty good to me.

NewI got my first AE two weeks ago. I've been playing for about 35 years and do all my own set-ups. This is the first bass I've bought in the past 15 years that required a fret job immediately. Nowadays, even cheaper imports can produce very low action without the aid of a professional luthier. If you're playing quarter notes and sticking to the root, then an AE bass will be fine. If you explore the fingerboard at all, look elsewhere.

I have an Allen Eden Disciple V, Honeyburst finish. It’s a great bass, unbelievable features for the money.
