I missed the Fillmore gigs, but I did catch the show at the Academy of Music (later Palladium) on 14th street in 1971.
I never really felt the band recovered well from the loss of Duane and Berry. That particular show was at the peak of
their energy.
One of my guitar players complains a lot about Dicky's tone and poor intonation. I never really agreed but he may have something there. Of course, my guy sits home in his recliner playing guitar while Dicky is still touring around.
