Almost a NBD... Nash?

I have a parts bass. The jazz bass body originally had a Squier Telebass neck on and I was told the body was a MIM Fender, but no F neckplate. I managed to get a body without a neck, but in the end the Tele was not for me, but since I had a Warmoth jazz bass neck, I ended up with an extra Jazz out of it which turned out to be quite nice.

Anyway, today I was fiddling around, trying out a Gotoh 201 on it, which meant shimming the neck a little. I saw in the pocket a serial number and a model number - JB-72. Putting that into a favourite search engine turned up threads here suggesting it is actually a Nash, although that seems to mean that it's a Warmoth body.

The pickups and other parts are pretty decent. The pickups I like - warm, and I had assumed they were just MIM ceramics, but now who knows if it is a Nash body.

But then it might be something else entirely...

If it is a "Nash body" then it is either Warmoth or All-Parts. Nash doesn't make basses, they just assemble them and age them. You cannot say "relic" because that is owned by Fender (and Nash was told to stop using it.)

It's a Warmoth neck, so that's fine by me. But it is marked JB-72. Under the label might be a Warmoth mark, but that's in the neck pocket and I've put the neck back on. I take your point about a 'Nash body' simply meaning 'as used by Nash'

I might take a look at the pickups to see what they actually are.

It isn't actually intentionally distressed, so it might be going back a bit in terms of Nash production if it is one.
