Alternating between 5 and 6 string

I play a five string with a low B currently. I have always wanted to have a bit more upper range as well.

To get past these issues and alternate between five and six string instruments. Is this a good idea? Does it get to confusing for muscel memory to be frequently alternating in performance situations?

i play a 5 string but switch to a 4 string every now and then. yes it gets a bit confusing coming back to the 5 string but i think the key is just remembering to think of the strings by their proper note. don't think of your C string as the first string and don't think of your b string as the last string. think about what notes you're playing instead of what string your hitting.

idk this works for me
