its happening! its crazy
i dont know what to think, feel or do about it but its just way too unbelievable that he is coming here to India! am going to travel around 20 hours one way myself too in a train but the idea of meeting the man himself makes it all very worth it! i just dont have any idea what its going to be like meeting your own hero in person, no clue what to expect!

its a four city concert-workshop thing and he'll be playing along some Indian folks, i think the gig is going to be jazz oriented. am going to the city closest to me.
have read his book and got the groove workshop dvd, surely have seen a lot of videos on youtube so i know how the workshop could be like a bit but its sooo cool!! just had to share

Yup. Vic is lovely, and he always delivers live, too. I've seen him maybe three times (two with the Wootones, once with Mike Stern), and at every show Vic was breathtaking. Mmmm, can't wait to see him again.

I wish I could say I know him. I don't, but I have seen him play several times, and I also ran into him in town before a concert once. He was just walking around, window shopping, with his bass on his back - in scenic Peekskill, NY.

He seemed like a very laid back, very cool guy. Enjoy.

any idea which Indian musicians he will be playing with? I'm sure you'll have a great time and learn plenty! Let us know how it went.

what a downer! the 3 hour master class/ workshop is now a one hour question and answer session and then the gig! i had already bought tix and made plans to travel all over the country. i'd have gone to the other city where they had the whole workshop and everything if only they had informed us about it
but i guess just getting to see him play would be awesome

i dont know what to say, i am really excited about seeing him but am pretty sad right now. i will be traveling 20 hours one way just because i wanted to attend the master class, the organisers could have done better

woah! it was amazing man! got meet him for a bit before the concert, spoke to him during the workshop, later got my stuff signed. i got front row seats right in front of vic and he was like standing a few feet away, but the most amazing part was the music! all the musicians were really really good, the percussion players were totally amazing and vic was vic! i have never been more blown away at a gig. the jams had so much intensity that i felt like everything would explode, vic had a really powerful tone from his amp, i dont think i heard the house sound much since i was sitting so close to the stage.
although he went straight to the house because i couldnt see a mic sticking to his hartke cabs. he was using a really cool magnetic type cable though, i wonder what it was
anyway even with the cut down workshops and no time for everyone to jam with him, it was the coolest thing ever. totally worth the traveling and everything and actually much more. i dont think i have seen anything better even though during the performances there were moments when it sounded a bit odd or lost since vic is not very used to indian music and they were playing the guitar player's compositions. it was fun watching vic make mistakes, if you call them mistakes, a couple of times

the little workshop before was really amazing too, i wish i could write more but i have to run right now. will post pics later
