Amazing Photos

A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket carrying the company's Crew Dragon spacecraft is launched on NASA's SpaceX Crew-1 mission to the International Space Station with NASA astronauts Mike Hopkins, Victor Glover, Shannon Walker, and Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency astronaut Soichi Noguchi on board, at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida, on November 15, 2020.

That’s a Great collection of pics!

I always thought the Mustang was the coolest, while the Lightning was the weirdest, which made it Supah Boss, and the Spitfire was, overall, the most beautiful.

As a pre-teen, I watched a weekly WWII drama...12:O Clock High. I fell for the comradery involved in being a member of the crew.
I wanted to be the top bubble gunner!

Years later, I watched a documentary on the B-17.

An old timer was telling a story about a mission over Europe that had left his plane All Shot Up, but everyone was safe as the plane staggered West across the English Channel.

The old fella’s eyes filled up as he remembered...’but we knew we were gonna be ok, ‘cuz that Fortress was the comin’est-home airplane anybody ever built.’

That line has been stuck in my head for decades.

The P-51 Mustang was instrumental in the WWII effort. The first long range fighter escort for the bombers to help them accomplish their missions. Before that, the fighter escorts went part of the way and had to re-fuel, so the bombers were un-protected at the far stretch of their journey.
I was walking home from work one day and I heard something...
That's a P-51 I said, and looked up...It was heading toward the EAA convention.
That is one gorgeous piece of machinery!
