Tnorala (Gosse Bluff) Conservation Reserve is a place of great cultural significance to the Western Arrernte Aboriginal people, as well as a site of international scientific interest.

The reserve is a registered sacred site and traditional owners welcome visitors to experience Tnorala's magic, but you should respect the area and obey signs where access is not allowed.

Scientists believe that around 142.5 million years ago an object from space, believed to be a comet about 600m wide, crashed to earth, blasting a crater roughly 20km across.

Oeschinen Lake is a lake in the Bernese Oberland, Switzerland, 4 kilometres east of Kandersteg in the Oeschinen Valley.

he Devil’s Postpile is located in the Mammoth Mountains of eastern California and is made up of around 400 oddly clumped-together basalt columns formed around 100,000 years ago by a cooling lava flow cracking the rocks into multi-sided formations, in the valley of the San Joaquin River. The columns come in all sorts of varying heights and sizes and appear quite polished and shiny due to glacial action over the years. It actually used to be much taller than it is now and continues to erode, the river below eating away at pieces that fall into the water.

Cool! That reminds me of Giant's Causeway in Northern Ireland, which is featured on the cover of Zep's Houses of the Holy. These formations were probably the result of the same process. I snapped these when a friend and I went to Ireland in 2017 to see U2's Joshua Tree tour in Dublin.
