Cirrus (or perhaps cirrostratus) clouds:

I love cloudscapes, so I'm always looking up. I've seen a great many cloud formations over the decades. I especially like cirrus/cirrostratus clouds. I've never seen a pattern quite like this one, and this is just a snippet of it. The entire sky looked just like this one area. Maybe not amazing to some, but I was amazed to see something I hadn't seen in all those years of looking up. I even looked up cirrus and cirrostratus images online...I found the usual "mare's tails" and other similar formations, but none that swirled across this entire sky like this. I would love to see something like this at sunset. Talk about "fire in the sky"!

BTW, I took this last year with a ten-year-old flip phone (yes, I was still using one right up to about two months ago!).
