American Deluxe Jazz Bass Mod

I need some of you guys knowledge. I play quite a bit of smooth jazz as well as standards. I really like a warm sound with some growl with a quick attack & no "loose" string sound. I just don't want to sell my p bass as I love it for certain style gigs. I love my custom shop Korean washburn ab40 for certain acoustic gigs & don't want to get rid of it. However I can't drop a lot of money on a boutique bass like a ken smith/modulus/etc without selling some of these. I do have an american deluxe jazz bass that I'm willing to mod to try to get the tone/feel I'm looking for. That's where y'all come in.

I'd like your opinion on putting bartolini jazz pups (dual coil humbucking) in my deluxe jazz & replacing the neck with a moses carbon fiber graphite neck. Has anyone on here tried it? What were your results? I appreciate any/all help & feedback.

I can't help with the neck but I know when I put Bart's in my active jazz it had very similar tone to what I had heard in smooth jazz. It was actually too much for my style of music so I switched them. It still sounded good though. Good luck!

If it were me, I probably go with Bart split coil on the neck and Delano split coil at the bridge.

Get warmth with the Bart with some aggressiveness from the Delano at the bridge.

I will be doing the same thing soon, but with 2 different humbuckers. Bart at neck and Delano at bridge.

Just make sure both pickups are compatible with each other.
