soo, i bought this goliath jr and it was damaged in shipping, and now that its getting fixed and all, i was wondering about putting it in a case. is it necessary? like there are instances where it will get thrown under a coach bus for a couple hours, possibly left alone, also tossed around various other buses, although i am doing the loading. what do you think?

Amp cases

For local players not on international world tours, amp (cabinet) cases are pretty much overkill. These cases are generally used for high-volume air and truck transport. Because of this, they are bulky, heavy, and pretty much impossible to get in anything smaller than a SUV.
In my experience, not being a road dog, the heavy duty nylon covers you can buy for cabinets do a great job of protecting the cabinet and keeping it from getting beat up.

not a bad idea, theyre alot cheaper too, im just concerned about it, because i do a alot of trips with my school(throw things under the bus, on the bus, etc. and its possible that at the end of this year or next that it will be going on a plane to disney. i think the nylon covers are only like 30 bucks or sumthin from SWR too, ill have to check.
I would say is you're touring then getting a travel case is worth the expensive. Gear is being loaded and unloaded in trucks and planes and gets slammed a lot. Around town unless small and the case doubles as a amp stand I would just go with covers or nothing at all.
Best thing I ever did was to make a dolly to move gear with. I had a piece of heavy plywood about 2.5' x 2' with good casters. I could move anything with that.

yeah i was planning to make at least the bottom half of the case, so as i could roll it around, but was wondering about the top, the reason im worried is for trips for jazz, and the end of the year trip with school, i have to find out if my stuff is going on a plane, because if it is im definitely building the rest of the case. i guess for now ill build the bottom part, and throw a nylon cover over it.
