Amp choices

Hey all,

What are my main amp choices (below $500 for a used one) for an alternative-rock group that's a bit harder at times?

I'm thinking about an SVT and a GK 1001, but I'm not sure yet.

Thoughts and ideas?

there are a lot of good choices at that price point used. those two are good choices. i prefer ampeg, some prefer gk. you can find pretty amazing deals on used solid state and hybrid heads. and it's to the point where you can find really decent amps for $500 or less new even. just play a few and get the one that you like the most. i'd get something in the 300-500w range, and get as big a cab as you can stand to move.
