To play this as written it switches between upright and electric. I couldn't do that in this limited space.

They have overhead mics that pick up everything so the drums are still amplified through the house. When we have electric drums we can use IEMs which is really nice.

I got to play through a Genzler Magellan 350 combo today and was enormously impressed with both the quality and quantity of sound coming from that almost comically tiny package.

Just wanted to follow up on this—I did buy the Magellan 350, and halfway through my two-week run of Pippin, I can’t imagine being any happier with it. It’s not cheap, but boy is it a great amp, and it couldn’t be more perfect for this kind of work.
