Amp Question

Anyone have any experience with the Peavey MiniMax 500 watt amp head.
I've used other Peavey amps and guitar's in the past. And really haven't had
any issues with them. At our local Guitar Center, it is not very well-stocked at all.
So I can't demo one there.

It’s on my radar for my next head (when needed). I’ve also had great experiences with peavey gear. The minimax series was once described as Aguilar Tonehammer on a budget, which really piqued my interest. I believe the 500 was the v1; the 600 is the newer v2 and apparently they fixed the noisy Direct out on the older 500.

A great review/comparison here on the 500:

I've had mine for years. Loud, durable, and reliable. Noisy fan, the DI out sucks (I use a passive Radial DI), tuner works well, "chicken" knobs look cheesy and are easily moved when transporting, sounds about the same whether buttons are deplayed or not. I usually depress the mid switch only.
