That’s one way to look at it. If you can disconnect the head from cabinet you can plug in another amp head. The powered cabinets allows for you to use many DI/Pre Amp pedals

I just want to have the ability to jam with friends if the occasion occurred.Cam, it would help if we knew more about what kind of music you want to play.
Are you planning to go beyond jamming into gigging any soon (within two years)?
Will you have to move your amp every time you go to jam (i.e. are size and weight an issue)?
What kind of car do you own (an SVT stack will not fit into a Kia Soul or a Toyota Corolla)?

The Markbass 102P is a great choice for that slap/funky/punchy type thing! It has plenty of watts and pairs well with an 104HF (Also from Markbass).
Aguilar ToneHammer is also a fantastic amp! I don't know too much on how it pairs well with a Stingray though. But the AG700 amp is a great punchy clear option with PLENTY of watts!
You could pair that with an Aguilar SL410 and you would be set!
Of course there are many great options. I also am quite slap heavy and love that ¨scooped¨ tone. Personally I use an Ashdown 12Band600 and an ABM410H cab. I love that rig, it sounds great and is super versatile. Or an Ashdown Retroglide (If you can find one). But it's all really up to what sounds best to YOU.

I own a Camry. The trunk will fit one or two typical 12" cabs, but not most 15" cabs or combos. The back seat will hold 1-15 or 2-10 cabs but not 4-10, 2-12, 2-15, etc. Your bass and amp head can fit upright in the front seat if the back seat and trunk are full.
I leave the Camry at home if I need to carry more than a bass, a head and 1-12 cab. If I need my upright bass, more cabs, etc. I used to load it into a Sienna minivan and now a Subaru Outback. If I had to carry an SVT, I would have bought another Sienna instead of the Outback
What part of the country do you live in? If I was going to drop $$$$$ on a new rig it would be worth paying for a road trip to the nearest city that has does have stores that carry a wide variety of amps.
I haven't read the entire thread but I highly recommend Genzler. The Magellan has killer tones, is super duper versatile, it's well built and the owner of the company frequents TalkBass oftentimes asking people with issues to contact him directly... and if not him there have been times where AgedHorse has jumped in.
I'm sure you've gotten a ton of responses and info here but the Genzler products should be considered.

You may want to consider the total weight of your new rig if you are going to be schlepping it around to band practice, recording sessions, and/or performances. Phil Jones is noted for their lightweight cabs and so is GRBass, among others.
Is there any city / store that has that wide selection? Maybe Sweetwater? Maybe Chicago Music Exchange?
I say go with the Markbass combo. Aguilar & Ampeg are similar IMHO and more traditional in sound.

This is another option if you decide to go a different route than the MB102P. The HX Stomp paired with a Quilter BB800 is a powerful combo. Pair it up with a Barefaced Super Twin or 4x10 and you're set for life. Lightweight, versatile, and hella loud.
Count me as another glowing endorsement for Bergantino. I feel like there would be nothing you cannot accomplish with a Forte D and one (or two) NXT 112s. I just have one at the present moment, with the ability to even play down to 2 Ohms if I wanted more; it is perfect for low volume practice to small to medium gigs, or stage monitoring with FOH support for anything larger and a wonderful DI output.

Stay with what works until it doesn't. If it aint broke, dont fix it. Seems we have very similar taste when it comes to basses. I highly recommend the MarkBass. Pairs every well with StingRays. Only reason I dont have one myself is the yellow/orange color scheme. I really dont care of it.

I want to try the Kinetix as well. I don’t need it but I want to see what the all tube pre design brings to the experience of being responsive and playable. Another TB’er has a Streamliner 900 that we want to AB with our current amp/cab setups.
