I have an Ampeg B500DR head rated at 375 watts into 4 ohms. I want to plug it into 2 Hartke Cabs each at 8 ohms bringing it down to 4 ohms. However, the cabs are rated at 200 watts handling capacity. Am I making a mistake? Thanks.

Ampeg 375 Watt Head into 2 8 Ohm Cabs - Question

It's fine- forget cab wattage ratings, just listen for bad sounds and turn down volume and/or low eq when spkrs complain.
Good information given. Also - as I understand it - in your situation, each cab would be getting half of the power the 4 ohm head is outputting making it 187.50 watts to each cab.
