Ampeg B-40

Hey everyone..

New here and also new to Bass playing I'm late to the party starting my playing career at 44 but it is what it is..

To the point.. I bought fairly cheap I hope do this setup to start . Any information people can give me on the Amp would be appreciated. The bass is a standard beginner Yamaha.. Amp is from what I can see an Ampeg B-40 combo from 1973...if I believe my buddy who sold it to me . Said he did some research with the serial number and all .

Sounds great but is it any good

Thanks in advance

Wouldn’t be 73, they didn’t release these until 1975. The B410 and B115 combo amps were available earlier in the 70s but the split head/cab were later.

I’ve had two of the cabs, the first was a 77 with kind of light duty eminence speakers, the second was a 75 with the same CTS speakers as my flatback 8x10. Worked well with my V4 and other heads.
