The one i recently had die on me did a similar thing before it decided to throw in the towel totally. Whenever I hit a big chord or something (i play with some overdrive anyway) the thing would seem to drop in volume briefly...kinda like if you had compression set really odd/badly on it. At the risk of starting of 'that' thread again, is it one of the 'new' ones?

yep, it's a new one.
very disappointed in it. I plugged in my Hartke cheap 250 watt head and had a flawless weekend. I guess i just have a really expensive practice rig now
