Ampeg B50R

I’ve been looking a long time for an amp to replaced my Peavey Basic 112 for the smaller gigs we do in my band. Volume with the Basic is not a mega issue (maybe could use a hair more) but it just lacks character and tone. I was thinking of replacing it with an Ampeg B100R if I could find one but they’re almost impossible to find up here and the ones I have found are ratty ones across the country on guitarcenter.com for high prices plus they charge another $100 for shipping. I was to the point where I had given up looking and was just going to save my pennies and get a Portaflex P-50T and 115HE. BUT today I just stumbled upon a mint condition B50R for sale across town. How might that little guy do in replacing Peavey? I’ve read nothing but good stuff about the B50R online.

I think you'll love it. Michael Anthony used one to cut the second Chickenfoot album. The only bummer about my Ampeg deal is that they discontinued the Rocket bass amps before I got a deal. I so wish they'd bring them back. That said, I can't complain about the BA112 I have, although I'd rather have the B50R. I wouldn't expect the volume differential between the two to be significant, though.
