Ampeg BA600/115 - Anyone tried it?

Thanks for the post. This combo gives me GAS too. Here's an image to hold you over:

I saw the Ampeg BA600 at the NAMM and it looked really nice but I didn't get a chance to play through it. An Ampeg representative told me that they should be shipping in March.

Just got one. Modern channel (solid state pre-amp) is supprisingly a little weak on volume, but the Vintage channel (tube pre-amp) will blow the walls out of most places that you play. Even though the Vintage side only has 2 EQ controls too emulate the B15, I run this amp set flat and it sounds like a million bucks.

Good to hear. They took too long to be anything more than vaporware and I fell in love with the Mesa M6 Carbine combo while I was waiting.

No regrets! I love the Mesa.. :bassist:

Have you had a chance to compare it to the 300? I'm wondering how much functional difference there really is given the cabinet size.

I've heard a couple bad things about this combo, mostly that the speaker likes to jump out of the front.

also, i've heard its too quiet for 600 watts, and that it doesn't sound like an ampeg should.

I'm staying far away. I'm not an ampeg guy normally, but when ampeg guys won't buy an ampeg, I'm not even coming close to one (ex. ampeg B series cabs)
