Anyone have this cab? Can anyone confirm that this cab is indeed 76 lbs? That's about 10 lbs less than the original. I have thought about picking one up to go with my VR, even though I already have a Bergantino NV610. Any benefits to having the HLF vs the NV610? I guess I could use them together...:bassist:

they are two completely different animals. the nv610 sounds more like the ampeg 810, sealed with a tight low end and no tweeter. 410hlf has a giant low end that's tuned super low, and a tweeter. i personally would never use them together because they're both so different. however, justin meldal johnsen used to use an 810av and a 410hlf while he was in ima robot so you just never know.

I have this cabinet paired with an EBS TD650 and it is really nice. Really deep sound but can get pretty tight and crispy when I roll the bass down to about 10 o'clock and bump the mid. I'm not sure how it compares sounds wise to the original SVT -410HLF, but it sounds pretty really good. My next amp to try with it will either be a mesa mpulse 600 or a glockenklang heart rock despite that I plan to keep the EBS. A good looking nice sounding cab in my opinion. It is about 80 pounds.

Other than the new speakers, I can't account for the weight differential.....

If the Heritage 4X10 is half the cab that the 8X10 is, it's worth it's weight in gold......:D

ARG, that is the shipping weight in the mondo box for an 810... The NEW asian millimeter plywood cabs are 140#. That's 8 pounds lighter than the old OSB cabs.

The 410HLF is 110# in the f'en box and 85# when you are playing it.

Unless you play your 810 and 410 in the box? I don't. You guys propogate bad information and people think AMPEG has lead shot in their cabs and go buy somebody else's without checking......

PS: Mingus you can come through here and play my 410HLF anytime you want, compare to 810's and 215's... Leave with anything you like.

Yeah- maybe NOW, but 5 yrs ago I had a SLM SVT410HLF & IT felt EVERY ONE of it's 13lbs HEAVIER than the NV610 when I got it. & I've got a spec sheet that came with it saying it's 110lbs??????? Still that's shipping weight??? I doubt it. I reckon they were made outta a heavier "wood" - it was a TANK!!!! I remember CALLING it a TANK on here, A nicely built & good sounding TANK, but still a solid, squat -T A N K!!!

810e is a way more common cab. If you like that big low end of the 410hlf, you should like the Heritage more. Besides, forget about the sound...the Heritage grillcloth is the coolest. Worth it for the cloth alone!

Honestly, I am unfamiliar with Ampeg as far as hands-on experience. Just been doing a lot of reading. Which cab do you think would be a better match for roots reggae/soul?
