I ordered an Ampeg micro VR SVT head recently. I love it, it sounds great.
One issue though: there's an XLR direct out coming from the head. I've used it to plug into the house PA at gigs, but I also tried using an XLR mic cable to run the head directly into my Scarlett recording interface to record direct bass tone.
The tone is great, but there's a LOT of buzz. I can usually hide it in the mix, but it's not great on is own. Does anyone know if there's a way to fix that? Should I use a different type of cable? Is it not meant for that type of thing? Is there an issue with the head?
