Ampeg PF500 vs. Genz Benz Shuttle 6.0 ,which one should I keep?

But taking the line signal from the amps and straight into my Mac/Logic system I really can't tell much of a difference.

Are you running the XLR outs pre-EQ? If so, you shouldn't hear a difference because the amps then essentially become DI boxes, bypassing the control section of the amps and sending the signal straight through. If you're running them post-EQ, you should be hearing a pretty good difference, because that's when the signal goes through the preamps and tone controls before heading to the XLR.

I'm running it post the filters & gain with a 12oclock setting and sim gain.
They both sound very good. Also Ive been using both heads with the same 1x15 PF HE cabinett. Of course there is a small difference in character but not anything that isn't easily tweaked with a small adjustment on the tone controls. The mid is pretty much the same to my ears, the Ampeg a little deeper in the lows and the GB a little bit more hard in the highs.
But generally speaking they're close enough so that with a boost or cut on eithers tone controls, I cant tell the difference in a blindfold test situation.
But this is my ears and maybe someone else hears more of a difference.
Im happy with both of them beeing that similar because I feel good about bringing any of them to a gig. I just bring the appropiate speaker combination.

Huh, interesting. I've tried the 6.0 and PF500 with both my Avatar B210 and PF115HE... The Shuttle takes some pretty good knob turning to get close to the Ampeg, and the Ampeg still sounds warmer to me.

But hey, they both work for both of us and we're making n-n-n-o-o-o-i-i-i-s-s-s-e-e-e, right? :bassist:
