So I'm converting to a rackmount... My Ampeg is like 2 inches short on both sides and not quite 2 spaces high. Anyone know how I might be able to rackmount it?

Ampeg PF800 quandary

I have not done it myself but you should be able to remove the feet and screw it into one of these : Raxxess UNS-1 Universal Shelf

Ampeg quite possibly will have a rack mount kit for this amp. Others do so I don't see Ampeg being any different.
The shelf is the best way to go as there are no rack mount kits that I'm aware of. It helps to attach the amp to the shelf to lock it in place. This can be done with screws and spacers through the foot mounts or with a pair of brackets. You have to get a bit inventive.
I called Ampeg and they have no rack kit. I think Regulator's slotted shelf idea sounds like s pretty good solution.
The size and shape of the PF 500 and PF 800 is soooo close to rack mount size that it makes me wonder why they don't make rackmount versions of these amps.
I think it was to be able to chunk it in a bag. I guess they figure people that want rack mounted amps would move to the 7PRO or 4PRO. I agree it would be nice. Same with the TH line from Aguilar or any micro for that matter. I think Markbass provides ears for theirs.
