Are you referring to the XLR out? - I"m curious about the headphone out on the front - that's where I'm hearing the noise (even with the treble at zero)I do, and I hear pretty good tone through the DI. It's not my favorite DI in the world, and yes, it will get a little noisy if you crank treble too much, but on my settings it's pretty decent.
So completely silent? Mine definitely has a hiss - and after the response from Ampeg, it sounds like it's from the fan...cranking treble, gain, or volume makes it a little louder, but it's there continuously regardless (with and without the bass plugged in)Oh, yeah...sorry...well, I'd say about the same for it, too.
I suppose I would qualify it as respectable...I honestly was just surprised there was any noise at all. As I mentioned, I have a $100 Acoustic practice amp that is completely silent through the headphone out - but it doesn't have a fan, and obviously isn't in the same ballpark as the AmpegNo, it's not completely silent, but the noise floor is respectably low IMHO.
