Denton, take it from me...give yourself a couple months before you make that decision. I came very close to making that decision when I got my first micro late in 2007, and I'm so glad I didn't!
I run mine into a 4ohm ported 15. No issues at all. Doesn't even feel warm at the end of the night.
Got the PF-350 last October. Using it with a 1X15 cab I built. Has been running fine. I can't compare the sound to anything else. It's the only rig I've owned, or used. Sounds good to me. Also sounds good with the lead guitar.

I have had mine for four months now and really like it. I have it hooked up to GK 210.
I had a "burnt smell" as well, but I thought it may have been because the voltage tap was on 230 when I first plugged it in. Yeah...Read the book first!
Thinking of adding a cabinet......any thoughts....another 210 or a115 maybe?

You didn't smell the burnt on opening the box? Anyway glad to know that that isn't signaling immanent death.
I doubt having it set to 220v would hurt it. Now if it was 115v and you plugged it in in Europe, that would be a problem.

I think I can actually make one trip from the truck to stage. Bass in gig bag, head and chords in pouches, cab in each hand. Maybe.. Maybe not. Still have to figure out where to put tuner and finger ease
I can be set up in 90 seconds, then grab a beer and burger while PA and drums are being loaded in and set up lol.
I wanna be in your band! I can usually set up in a few minutes too but the whole band has to kick in with unloading/loading the PA, etc.

What do you mean exactly? I want to know where bass guppy got the "Per Ampeg more than 12,000 units sold with around a 1% failure rate." statistic from. It is a fair question
Alrighty, before I put you back on ignore (just when I thought it was safe), I will answer your question. The 12,000+ figure for the PF500 comes from Ampeg at a presentation they did at NAMM 2013, and is verifiable through industry trade reports. The 1% failure rate comes from an email from Ampeg CS that someone copied and posted on here. Do I know how to verify that? No I do not. Do I believe it? Yes I do.
OK, now that we got that out of the way, let's not pretend that you're some kind of consumer watchdog here. You not only defended TC when they got caught lying about wattages and admitted to it, but you were mortally offended that anyone would even care. So your constant run-ins on Ampeg threads ring hollow because with the act of defending TC so vigorously, you shot your consumer watchdog credibility in the foot.
