Ampeg scrambler

Recently picked up the ampeg scrambler overdrive after searching for a mild overdrive. Took it to practice last night and was extremely underwhelmed how much low end this cuts, I had the basically crank the volume and cut the blend to be heard in the mix. Has anyone else had a similar experience with this pedal? Any adjustments I can make before I look at moving it on?

Never had issues with mine. I find it tends to sound best with the tone between 9:00 and 10:00.

That said, I found it doesn’t play well with an active bass, so that may be something to consider.

I had one for about 2 weeks. I hated it. Couldn't find any settings that sounded good to me. And I love Ampeg stuff. I have the SCR-DI, and use the scrambler circuit on there. To me the Scrambler pedal missed the mark.
