Ampeg SVT 810 Lifespan??

Total random question but I was just wondering how long do Ampeg SVT 810's last? Like how long have you had yours before it was done with and had seen it's days? I got one used last summer in really good condition and was just wondering.

Some of the originals are still in service. If you take care of it, you will need to include it in your will

On the other hand you can just arrange to be buried in it when your done.
This only holds true using it with an SVT 300 tube amp, with a couple of K of class d solid state, all bets are off.:-(

If you take care of it decently, it should outlast you by a considerable margin

They can last a long time, unless fire is involved. They don't like fire.

Used mine in several working road bands over a 28 year stretch.
Replaced the drivers once only because water got under a tour bus that was hauling it and ruined 4 of the drivers.
Parted ways with it roughfully 7 years ago.....wish I had it back!

with proper care & feeding, it should last well into your twilight years at the hands of some young kid who wants to shake some foundations.

I got one used about 25 years ago, and it was already beat to hell, but it served me for about 10 years, then I sold it off, and the guy who I sold it to still has it and it is working just fine.

They last as long as any speaker cabinet does, e.g., decades if not abused.

My 8x10 is 14 years older than I am. No replaced drivers, it's been stripped and stained and needs the grill replaced but it sounds great and ought to last me into decrepitude.

Usually until the toltex is around 40-50% peeled off. After that they go for real cheap on Craigslist.
