Reading a bunch of threads here and I still can't sort this out. The typical 10" driver for quite some time has been an Eminence made 86-032-01 32ohm 10". Eminence makes the Legend B810 as well. It appears that the drivers in the Heritage SVT are something yet again different. Does anyone have that part number and where to find it? Has anyone compared these drivers to each other in the same box?

That's still the number for the 810e and 410he speakers, both domestic and foreign. And they are different, with the Heritages being better but the Chinese ones being pretty darn good as well. The B810 is for those who want an Ampeg flavor but don't want to pay for the exact speakers. After hearing a couple comparisons of them vs stock, I'd take the stockers.

The part number for the Heritage 10" is 86-032-01-9 and should be available from Ampeg.

Eminence makes the same part number in both China and the USA? How do you tell the difference to whomever you order from?

...or are the heritage drivers that much better?

86-032-01 is Ampeg's internal part number for their standard 32 ohm 10" speaker rather than an Eminence part number. It has carried over from the SLM days and does not necessarily mean that a current production speaker hasn't had its specs tweaked from those built in the 90s, nor does it guarantee the same country of origin. As an example, the part Ampeg part number for the Diamond Blue Tolex that was reissued in the 90s was 26-277-01. This Tolex was 66"W and was manufactured in the US. After Loud purchased St. Louis Music and moved production overseas it started sourcing the Tolex from over there too. The newer Tolex was only 54"W and no longer made in the US but still maintained the original SLM part number. I believe that a major reason these internal part numbers seldom change is because so many internal documents reference them (drawings, BOMs, etc.) that it would be a nightmare trying to keep everything up to date otherwise.

Full Compass lists the speaker for $71; Orange County Speaker lists it for $95. Not sure if one is USA and the other isn't, you'd have to ask them. As far as I know, the only place to buy the Heritage model is from Loud.

The price is a dead giveaway. Heritage 10"s are like $120 or $125 (I think that's what Mark said they were) and the Chinese ones are less than $100. Also, the Chinese ones clearly say Eminence China on the label and the USA ones are also clearly marked.

...or are the heritage drivers that much better?
They are. They sound as good as the treasured CTS alnicos from the first few years of SVT 810 production, and handle over 3x the power of the CTS's.

Got a set of the Heritage 10's for the Ampeg 410HE. The part number above is correct. The Heritage 10's are indeed a different thing than the regular 10's. Not by much to look side by side in the raw, but in the cab they sound significantly better than the mid 2003 Eminence they replaced. Clear, punchy and very "Ampeg". There was a honk to the cab that is gone with the new drivers. It's a great hack for a 410HE with tired drivers or ones from the dark sounding period. The box sounds very much like a mini 810 on the gig. I don't mind the MDF in these older cabs, they have some nice authority to them and sound quite rich. Side by side with a pair of them shooting out with a couple old 810s they have more low end, clarity and are more modern sounding.

Wow, super cool! You probably have the only Heritage 410he in existence right now.
