Ampeg SVT model differences

Jerrold, I know you built them and participated in the design, but I have to disagree with you. It's a little bit different but no less vintage-sounding IMHO. And whether you prefer the gain/master or a single volume knob SVT, the CL is still better than almost all other heads on the market (also IMHO for those people who can't tell fact from opinion).

CL is a good amp. A number of things about it are DIFFERENT from a vintage SVT

There are "details" of sound that happen with a vintage, and do NOT happen with a CL.... Just facts......I certainly have no reason to slam a CL.... Subtle things, some may say, but they are there. Being OK with an amp and being very happy with it is all ABOUT subtle things, really.

Then again, there were people at SLM who could play a guitar blindfold and tell you what kind of wood was in it. So I am used to people who really notice things. For me, I happily admit a lot of it I simply am not good enough to notice........ That was fine, others could, and did.

Well, through some of these blind tests I've done, I've come to find out that my hearing isn't as sophisticated as I thought, so maybe you're right. Saves me money, though ;)
