I have the opportunity to grab both of these for $500. I think its worth it...says everything pictured is included and all in perfect working order.

Cabinet is 8X10 and obviously svt5 pro.

I guess I'm looking for thoughts, good or bad, before I pull the trigger.

If you don't have to move it between gigs...it's a steal.

Lots of legroom and flexibility in the 5pro. The octaver and distortion effects/channels are a plus.

Moderately, yes. I don't anticipate that you will be lugging the 5 pro in one arm and bass in the other.

It sits in the same family as the 4pro and SVP-1600. It's a solid tour-grade amp designed to play nice with PA's, effects, other amps, and preamps. Sitting in a rack case, it's going to be fairly heavy. However, if this rig is sitting in a rehearsal space or only used for big shows from time to time -- it's a heck of a deal.

Like I tell most new 4/5pro owners (myself included), give the manual a good read, and when you're done...read it again. Respectable power and flexibility is there if you know what you're doing.

The 5 Pro has been my main amp for many years now; it’s a great amp. Extremely flexible both tonally and in terms of outputs/power/etc. Moderately heavy as others have said. I’d definitely go for it if it’s working well!

Run do not walk to pick these up assuming you like the tone and can stand the weight.

I own three of the SVT 5 pro’s, sorry it’s a sickness. They sound great with just about any Ampeg cab. Let’s put it this way, if you don’t buy this stuff I will. Or if you buy it and don’t like it, I’ll take it off you hands and arrange shipping. Is that incentive enough to go for the deal. Be prepared to “schlep” however, goes with the territory. Nice find!!!

Sometimes folks just need to make room so they’ll let gear go at a low price. I’ve certainly done that.

It’s a lot of amp. Even if it needs some regular servicing, the price is certainly right.

A lot of this stuff is not necessarily a matter of weight, it’s awkwardness. Once you learn the tricks all is good. “Schlepping” is cool, but you have to learn how to “Schlep” with S-T-Y-L-E, style!
