ampeg v4 with an ampeg 350h slave?

basically, i've never owned enough amps at one time to run a slave so i've never bothered to figure out exactly how it works or what the benefits are.

so! questions are:

1. is it possible to slave my ampeg 350h to the ampeg v4 that i just bought?

2. is there a crucial benefit to doing this?

sorry if this sounds like a newbie question but i'm really only experienced in high gain guitar amps.

thanks!!!

you can not slave old tube amps unless there is a line out. otherwise you blow up something or tear a hole in some electronic guts or junk. this has been asked a few times in the past month or so

the 350-h would be the slave.

i don't really know how slaves work so i was wondering about running the solid state into the tube head? kind of like a giant 350watt boost or eq pedal?

i've never had experience doing anything like this and i really don't wanna ruin my gear(i.e. my tube head or my cab).

stereo would be neat if you run effects. what kind of cab are you running this through?

im super simple in my rig. just bass to the V4. i got mine with a matching B40 cab and was never totally happy with the tone above a certain volume. I thought it might be the head so i tried running a BDDI and still wasnt happy. Settled on trying a new cab and eventually just loaded the B40 with Bag End speakers from a Q10BXD and my problems were solved.

It seems like youre looking for more headroom if you are trying to boost the power of a V4. These are pretty stout amps if you have the right efficient cab. This Bag End mod i did got me pretty darn close to the feel of having an 810 fridge.

cheers,
