Ampeg V4B manual???

I just recently traded my ampeg svt 350h for an ampeg V4B. i love this amp and i think i did myself right by trading but i CANNOT find a manual for this amp. i found one for the V4, and that one might be the same as the one for the V4B, but im not sure. there was a post by Nighttrain1127 in 2007 that was about the same thing. so does anyone know if the manual for the v4 is the same as the one for the v4b? and if they're not can some one find one for the v4b? i sure cant.im trying to figure out weather or not my the v4b has 2 cab outputs, it has one that's marked clearly and another that might be an out but im not sure. i have a ampeg svt 1540he cab, and if my head has 2 outs i can run the cab in 2 ohms @ 500 watts rms, rather than running it in 8 ohms @ 400 watts rms. can some one help my with my delemma? pleez:help:

The ampeg v4B puts out 100 watts at either 2, 4 or 8 ohms. Just make shure the ohm selector is positioned to the proper ohm load you are putting through it. You can run two 8 ohm cabinets or one 4 ohm cab for a load of 4 ohms, two 4 ohm cabinets for a 2 ohm load, or one 8 ohm cab at 8 ohm. Dont expect more than 100 to 120 watts rms out of that head regardless what load you have it set for.

70's V4B has two speaker output jacks and as previously mentioned, an impedence selector switch.
If your cab can be switched for 2 ohms, it won't help anything because your head can be switched to 2/4/8 anyways. The impedence rating of your cab is what it can take - not what it will give.
I'd run your head/cab both at 8 ohms. At 2 ohms any series resistance of the speaker cable and contacts will be more significant and might cause a little power loss.
Then again, just test it. As long as your head and cab are switched to match, you'll be good.

The manual on www.ampegv4.com will also cover your V4B. Same deal except you have the bass boost and don't have the sensitivity switches.

The two speaker outs are labeled "speaker" and "ext. speaker". The two outputs are in parallel, so when using both you divide the output ohms (2 x 8 ohm cabs means set your head on 4). From what I've read (and I'm sure repeated) you're supposed to plug into the "speaker" jack with one cab, then the "ext. speaker" when you add a second cab unlike newer amps where you can plug into either. In my experience, plugging into only the "ext. speaker" gives you funny noises. The other outputs are explained in the manual pictures.

as said above, it's got an output transformer so the head puts out what the head puts out no matter what ohm tap you're using.

Ahhh, I was close.
I said that, because i've heard of Bass players buying Ampeg V4's, and ripping the Reverb tanks out, and using em' as a bass head.
But besides that, and what you said, they are pretty much the same circuits, correct?

Yeah I think it's like two resistors in the mid control circuit or something like that, I remember reading a way to mod the V4 into a V4B circuit. I use a regular V4, sounds awesome.

the whole reason for this post is so i can get to know my head and cab better. both my cab and my head are a bit older, and neither are in production any more so getting the manuals is a bit tricky. you've all been a big help. thanks
