Hi guys,

I am currently in the market for a new bass cabinet and would like to reach out and get other people's opinions about the following cabinets:

2 cabinets that I'm currently looking into:
  • Ampeg Pro Neo Series PN-410HLF
  • Eden D410XLT
My current rig:
  • Ampeg SVT-4PRO
  • 2 Ampeg SVT-410HE
  • 4-String Warwick Corvette $$

The current group I am playing with can best be described as funky, rock, electronic, post-disco, dance music.

I am looking for a cabinet that can handle a lot of power and has great definition. I plan on adding a 5-string to my bass collection so I want something that can handle a low B without any problem. Also, I want to keep my SVT-4PRO.

I'm leaning towards the Ampeg Pro Neo series because I've had such good luck with Ampeg in the past. The PN series is relatively new so finding reviews and feedback is somewhat limited.

I've heard nothing but good things about Eden so that is why I am strongly considering them.

If anyone can provide any experience they've with either of these cabs or share some comparable cabs I would greatly appreciate it!

I would keep your current rig. I began using Ampeg in 1978. I used GK for a couple of years and tried several Eden heads and cabs before going back to Ampeg. The Eden heads and cabs were purchased used from different sellers and upon receiving them, all were found to have problems. The cabs had at least one blown speaker and the head didn't work at all. I tried several other used Eden heads and cabs at local stores and they also had problems. This made me skeptical about Eden quality. I saw it as too much of a coincidence that cabs and heads from different sellers all had problems. I have never had a problem any Ampeg product whether I purchased them new or used. My primary rig is a US built SVT6PRO and two 410HE cabs. I purchased them used and haven't had any issues with them.

I had the Pro Neo 410HLF for a while. It was definitely clear and punchy - but it did not have the low end I would expect from a "LF" cab.

I since have gotten an Ampeg Heritage 410HLF and I love it - I just wish they would stop building those in the tilt back dolly design - because that does not work well with a 410 (as opposed to an 810).

Sorry, I have no experience with Eden cabs.

The folks at Ampeg describe the Pro Neo series as "Sounds like Ampeg but a little tighter and cleaner." But if I were you I'd just keep using what you have. Those 410he's have plenty of low end for a 5-string, and it doesn't have those really boomy deep lows of the SVT 410hlf. A lot of folks like the 410hlf just because of the lows, but I prefer the 410he myself.

I have an Eden D410XST and an Eden 810xlt. I also have an Ampeg 810e that I prefer over the Edens. I will say that I have never had any problems with the Edens I just prefer the Ampeg sound.

I voted other because I just became a Mesa convert. Got a Mesa Traditional 610 a few weeks ago and loving it. Sealed,no tweeter. The cab that Ampeg wont build. But,the rig you have is fine. Love the sealed Ampeg 410.

Thank for all the input!!

After thinking about it and reading everyone's thoughts, I have decided to keep my current setup. The only con with my current setup is the weight off both cabs. But can't beat the indestuctibleness of the HEs.

Thanks again fellas.
