Ampless, or Rather, Cabless

We are going to start using IEM's and I've never had any experience with them. My setup is:

Ray34 or EBMM Sterling -> MXR Micro Amp ->EBS Multicomp -> EBS Multidrive -> Line6 M5 -> GK MB500 -> GK NEO 115 -> GK NEO 115

Will it work to not bring my cabs and have the DI go right into the mixer? I wouldn't need a sansamp or anything since I can use my amp as a preamp/ DI.

We have a "good PA" that can handle the bass through the FOH. I have been using my cabs so that I can here me on stage.

Is there anything that I'm missing here? I don't know brand or model on the IEM's, but I'll keep you updated if need be. Thanks!

That will work fine. Any DI to get the FOH is all you need, and the DI on the MB500 will be fine. If you feel like carrying less stuff, then grab a smaller standalone DI if you'd like.

Not necessarily, but you certainly can use it for the EQing. Do you guys have your own sound guy?

You can also grab a preamp/DI type thing like an Aguilar Tone Hammer (or whatever) and use that for it's EQ. Obviously buying anything is going to cost money, and using what you already have isn't. And it's not like the MB is a large or heavy amp. I'm just giving you the options.

I run a straight DI to FOH pretty regularly and do all the EQ right on the board, which is minimal. It works great for me, but I can understand how it may not work for everyone.

I understand what you're saying. We run our own sound, so we don't have a dedicated sound guy. I don't think the juice is worth the squeeze to get a sansamp, tone hammer, etc for me. Thanks!
