I have recently been playing with a group that all use in ears and go DI into the board. It has been a remarkably enjoyable experience in that I can hear my bass in the mix better than I ever have before. I am running my old Kay via a Fishman full Circle into a Fishman Platinum Pro Preamp directly into the board and the signal comes back to me in my nears and I have complete control of my bass EQ and settings as well as I control what's in my in ears as well. I have complete control of my sound and what I hear at my fingertips and I don't have to fight the amp or other frequencies from loud monitors or amps on stage. It is truly a fantastic setup... anyone else running this type of live rig?
