Amps and Airplanes

So I'm flying to San Fran from Vancouver on Christmas, and I am thinking about buying a bass amp there (probably the acoustic b100, something 1x15).

Of course, I'm going to bring it back to Vancouver, but I don't know if the airlines allow that stuff...

I'm taking Air Canada btw...

What I want to know is if anyone has expirences flying an amp, or any additional information...

Thanks.

there is only a 50 lb limit per bag, plus you will have to put it in a flight case to keep it from getting damaged. for that reason, and of course for the import fees canada charges, it's a really horrible idea.

I know it's a horrible idea... It's just that if I ship the acoustic here, it's around $100 bucks shipping, since acoustics don't sell in Canada...

Maybe I should just get an Ampeg or something from my local store...
