Double Bass Amps for DB in Northern Germany

Folks,

I just committed to a jazz quartet tour in northern Germany next year. For those of you who have spent time in Europe I have a question.

Will you offer some suggestions for easily accessible, common combo amps, that work well for DB? I need to offer some suggestions to the tour managers. Thanks!

I think Gallien-Kruger and Markbass are common here. The 121p is often used by double bassists.
But I'm mainly in western Germany.
Shop density is much smaller in the north than here.

Northern Germany as in Hamburg and Bremen? Not really a shortage of gear over there. I think you should be able get almost anything over there.

Hi, I recommend to contact Heiner Dithmar Geigenbau-Dithmar, Atelier für Streichinstrumente, Geigenbau Hamburg, Kontrabass, Kontrabass Hamburg (page only in german). He is located in Hamburg and renting out basses and he always also has some amps in his shop. I'd guess he would rent them too, if asked. There should be a lot of other options as well, I second Matthijs opinion. We really have no shortage of anything here in Germany's north.

Thanks to all! Yes, we will be flying into Hamburg and then touring the northern parts of Germany.

I have never had to travel with a bass, and request backline internationally, so your advice is much appreciated!

I have no doubt that there is a lot available in Hamburg and maybe even Bremen, but away from the few large centers of the north of Germany the choices might be more limited.
So better rent an amp in one of the centers and travel with it than expect getting a useful amp at every single location.
