I built an all wenge bass, 5 string, weight only 7.25 Lbs

1. small headstock and ultralite tuners (to avoid neck dive)
2. small body
3. chambered body
4. thin neck profile.

He is right.

It will be snappy, and sustain great, with some deep overtones.

Wenge body and wenge laminated neck. I know it would be very HEAVY but what do you think the tone would be like?

Heavy-yes, very. But it is possibile to cut some weight as mentioned here but bass will still be on the heavy side. Also it depends are you talking about 4, 5, 6 or...x string bass? I had neck through 6er, wenge nt + swamp ash body wings + ebony fingerboard and was pretty heavy, also with a bit of neck dive in sitting position. But it would depend on construction methods, design etc ofcourse.
Sound? Subjective, they say low mid heavy and to me tone was:
Dark but not muddy at all
Big bur not overbearing
Serious, markant, strong
It sounds like deep male voice to me /j bass would be tenor or bariton/
...if that makes sense at all.
