An Introduction

Yo, northerner/ex-midlands'er from the UK here, I've been lurking on these forums for ages, ever since I thought about getting into bass. I play drums - or used to, but have been living in flats ever since I left home for University, so I'd been looking for something to fill the void, and I always leaned towards sexy basslines over killer riffs (although I'm not knocking those riffs!).

Been playing about a year now, so satisfying to play through songs I couldn't approach when I started, and I feel my appreciation for music, and making out the bass tones, has grown greatly.

Learnt a lot from this site, some really helpful forum posts (and some "unhelpful" ones, GAS is real). Looking forward to learning more, and maybe actually contributing. See you around!

Welcome to TB. Lots of information here and folks that are willing to help, you only need ask.
Best of luck in your bass quest, it’s kept me busy for 45 years and it’s loads of fun, especially coming from drums and having rhythmic sensibility you’ll do great I’m sure.
Does seem like a helpful and friendly crowd. I think the rhythmic side was definitely a big pull. Can't listen to tunes with tapping along, even when playing the foot still goes.

Hi, and welcome, from a fellow limey...
Hi, and thanks!
