Hello! I play a fretless bass thru a boss OC3 currently. I’ve always had issues with the pedal losing track when I play notes maybe below D, as played on the A string. I always get an annoying warble like the pedal doesn’t know what to do and jitters back and forth between a couple pitches. I assume maybe some of this behavior is due to the fretless, and me having less than perfect intonation, but I don’t have issues with large distance glissando/portamento maneuvers in higher registers.
is this due to the digital make up of the pedal? Do other iterations of the OC series tend to behave this way? Also if I’m not mistaken, analog octave pedals only provide a new note ABOVE the origin pitch played, am I wrong? Either way, any advice on some octave pedals to look at to replace the OC3 would be nice to know!
