Analog Synth "Strings" Emulation

I just discovered that if you run the Digitech FreqOut in the "Low Natural Feedback" setting (with no clean signal blended in) into a Sub'N'Up with the "Polyphonic Organ Generator" Toneprint loaded you get an effect that sounds really close to that a typically analog emulated "strings" effect (that is meant to sound like a bowed instrument ensemble, but really doesn't, and is it's own thing).

In fact I just discovered how absolutely amazing the FreqOut is, despite having owned it for over a year.

Just never really explored its possibilities, beyond the initial testing to see if the pedal worked.

The "Low Natural Feedback" setting sounds no less than astonishing, almost like a theremin.

Interesting!

I have a FreqOut but I only used it on guitar... time to experiment!
Well, to be honest I do have an always on subtle 1 octave up effect, from a custom Toneprint I made for my other Sub'N'Up Mini, to emulate an effect similar to that of an 8 string bass, as part as my always on "clean" tone, placed before the FreqOut and my other Sub'N'Up, with the Organ Toneprint, so your results may vary without that.

Bur please do report back, whether you get similar results or not.

Interesting find of effect combination. I use string sounds all the time from an EHX Mel9 and Synth9 and Boss SY200.

I need to add that Tone Print to my favorite list for the Sub n Up.
Well, that Toneprint by it self, at least unaltered (it's a template, so you could probably modify it to sound better with bass), used with bass sounds like a cheap digital organ with way too much low end, but with the FreqOut in that setting going into it it results in an interesting effect, that as said somewhat resembles an analog synth "string ensemble" sound.
