Hello, welcome, Talkbass is a great read. What are you into? I currently have a cheap Samick 5 string bass, but it as awesome Dimarzio passive pickups in it, so it's fine for now. I like soloing, and weird percussive type sounds.

I've been playing for a bit over 10 years now, been involved in 2 semi-serious bands playing post-rock/metal and a handful of random jam projects. Currently playing an Ibanez Artcore (ASB140) that I love to death and would never trade or sell. EVER!
Also, I'm a lefty... but just for bass/guitar playing which is weird I guess.
