Another sci-fi conception edges a tiny bit closer to reality

The electrostatic force is enormous. If you could extract a sizable amount of electrons from the "tractee",
and move them to the "tractor", you could at least attract it, if not suspend it in position.

Consider that you can easily charge an object and produce an attractive force many times greater than gravity.
