The only black nylon tapewound with red silk I know of is GHS, although there might be others I'm not aware of.Yes they are.
Thank you! I might have seen your reply on a similar post. That might be right! The only black nylon tapewound with red silk I know of is GHS, although there might be others I'm not aware of.
They're NOT LaBella or D'Addario, that much I do know...
Hi y'all! Can someone please identify my strings? These came along with the bass I acquired years ago. Thanks and much appreciated!![]()
My old GHS tapes have redder silk than these. The only black nylon tapewound with red silk I know of is GHS, although there might be others I'm not aware of.
It's actually a blood red in person. On the photo, it kinda looked like red-orange.My old GHS tapes have redder silk than these.
Galli black nylon tapewounds also have red silk: though they look a richer hue of red here, they tend more toward the orange/pink here and here.
Now, salmon silk as in the OP, I've never seen. Some older product? Status? did Picato make tapes? is the Dress yanni/gold or laurel/blue?
Sounds like GHS for sure. I would call their red "crimson red", which is the same red as the Boomers. It's actually a blood red in person. On the photo, it kinda looked like red-orange.
Yes, crimson red is a good description.Sounds like GHS for sure. I would call their red "crimson red", which is the same red as the Boomers.
Gotcha. As I said, they could be either GHS or Galli tapes. In your case, they're most probably the former. Some future member may find this thread, so may be useful to them to point out tapewounds by two manufacturers sport red silk. It's actually a blood red in person.
