Anthony Jackson and Buster Williams

This is not a vs. thread, but an appreciation of these guys' splendid work on two different recordings of the same tune. The number is "Tell Me A Bedtime Story". Buster Williams plays a very busy double bass part on the Herbie Hancock version that reminded me a bit of the playing style of the great Ron Carter. Anthony Jackson lays down a great groove on electric bass on the Quincy Jones version. Been studying both as a result of a transcription request. Great stuff!

Both bassists are great, but the thing that really strikes me is what a great composer Herbie Hancock is.
