When I used the search function, Anton Schroetter returned 17 related threads and some of them looked like they could be helpful for you. I'd link it, but for some reason I don't think TB will link a search result.

When I taught orchestra for a few years in Milwaukee Public Schools, they were buying lots of Schroetter basses, all fully laminated. I believe it was an import label. They had nice flamed maple veneers on the back, along with the purfling loop you see on some Juzek basses. I recall that they had a decent sounding arco for a plywood.
