I having been considering putting together a bass banjo. Have the 14" snare, can go get the extra bass neck. I even have a banjo bridge someplace. Just haven`t had the drive to get it done.

Thanks, today's progress;
Corian nut
Made bolts for lid
Chrome spike nut caps and washers
Made jig for pup's
Routed pup's cavities
Routed out track for wires
Drilled and mounted volume knob
Tru-Oiled neck again
Mounted strap pins
Polished chrome hardware
Need to hunt down some chrome screws to mount the pup's with. install jack & plate..

whoa, that is a fancy electric one!
I made a simple acoustic one with just the box, a 1"x2", some old tuning pegs, and a wooden dowel for the bridge. sounds decent, stays in tune. I use DAD tuning with 3 guitar strings. sounds great with a glass slide.

Check this crazy idea out, a friend just posted this up on FB and I can see this working. I have the goodie here, I am going to try it tomorrow in my shop. What the hell right??

Well she is finely done and ready to string up,
So I finished wiring it, re-did the neck contoured and blended it back in. Now she has a coat of true oil on the re-done section.
I cleaned those nasty frets and dressed the ends, leveled them and thru another coat of oil on the fret board which will get hit with a soft scuffy pad to de-gloss it and then is string time and tuning,,,, then yes I get to play with it!

With running around for some spare parts and all I think I have about 30 hours in it.

Thanks, first one. Learned a few things, I will be taking on a three string soon.

Since this is a Bass forum I will keep this build in the same thread as to not clutter things up for those whom may nit care to see non-bass related items.

I started with a solid piece of Mahogany 4" x 1 3/4" X 36" and of course the box.
