Any good songs and exercises for timing?

There are different timing problems:
  1. The stuff you want to play is too difficult, so you lose the tempo trying to play it: the way to deal with this would be to practice the part n times until you nail it at whatever speed. A metronome (or similar device) to help you accelerate may be helpful.
  2. You are often off beat, at any speed: I would make sure you simplify your playing and lock with your drummer. Learn the parts well, so you concentrate only on your timing
  3. You play crazy time signature pieces, 7/4, 11/8, etc. and find it tough to keep up. I would first listen to the tune n times to understand its slippery groove. Then split certain tough parts on sub-parts (11=4+4+3) to help your brain link to the patterns
I would also suggest putting your favourite music and playing over, long hours doing this. This will exercise your brain muscles that help you get “in synch” with the music

I hope this helps

What thewildest said. Most timing issues are solved with absolute mastery of the material at slower speeds and building up. Personally I use a Spotify premium account and an app called Amazing Slow Downer. I slow the music down, waaaaaay down, to a tempo I can play comfortably and don't even think about upping until it is consisntently stone-cold perfect.
