Any info on Lakland Nickel Roundwounds??

Hi all,

I just got a 2015 Lakland 44-94 and I strung it with DR Sunbeams, which has been my go to string. I was thinking of trying the Lakland Nickel Roundwound strings, but can't find much info on them, other than they may be GHS Boomers that are made to Lakland specs. I have no experience with Boomers either. Has anyone tried these or can give me some general info regarding tension, tone, etc and maybe how they compare to the Sunbeams.

DR Sunbeams vs. GHS Boomers...

Sunbeams = more flexible due to the round core. Full bottom, sparkly top end and somewhat polite midrange.

Boomers = stiffer by nature due to the hex core. Darker in character than SBs with more of the low-mid punch with grit and grind and less of the top end sparkle.

And yes, Lakland strings are in fact made by GHS. So, I would expect their nickel rounds to be closer, if not identical, to the Boomers both in tone and feel.
