Any Oktava Mic owners?

I just picked up an Oktava MK319 for $40. Never used any Oktava mics, but the price was too good to pass up. Was curious what anyone on here who's used one thought about 'em. What applications did you have them in?

Decent mics for the money. There are some folks who perform some mods on them to make them much better mics. I was in the market to pick up a pair of octava 012's and had tried them out, but ended up getting a good deal on some others.

There are apparently a lot of octava chinese fakes out there that aren't as good as the real russian-made versions.

For $40, good find. It doesn't sound great, but you'll definitely get your money's worth. As far as mods, that mic has weird resonance in the body, so a lot of the mods deal with filling in the body of the mic with foam.
